Take notes and ask questions!
Houston has a competitive market when it comes to the multifamily housing industry and that means rates and promotions are different everywhere. You want to be sure that you ask questions about pricing, how long rates are available for and if they are subject to change frequently also at this point you will want to get information about any fees that are required. Also, be sure to ask about current promotions and concessions that are being offered. Management companies love to reel in new residents year-round. Trust me they have offers for you. You want to walk away with as much valuable information as possible. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Lastly get requirements ready!
Apartment approvals are based on a very small criterion. Applicants must be over the age of 18 years old, 3 times the annual income is required as proof of income- 5x if a guarantor will be necessary. And finally, a criminal/background check and credit check are performed during the application process. Application approvals typically happen within 48-72 hours after the application has been submitted.
